One line says it all.

Robert Scoble(one of my news source) on his, Oh! so popular blog, has written a post regarding Zune, which is mentioning a post on Zunester, a blog by Microsoft employee David Caulton. The whole Zune thing is not that important to me though I am not untouched by zune, but thats something for some other day.
One line which prompted me to write this post is one line by Robert Scoble :

If a product causes conversations to happen, then it’ll see more adoption quicker.

This statement is in Zune’s context, and RS took example of ipod, which due to its design became part of conversation, and keeps on doing so by regular master strokes from apple. But this very statement is apt for many things, and specialy things which are for public use. For me orkut is one good example. India is third on the demographic chart of orkut, and its one talk point of students in India. But such geeky things can not sustain if they are not provided with manure named – innovation.
If you are planning to open a new startup, then wait, think, of whose needs do you want to garner, niche audience or audience in general. Anf then plan out one thing which gives them the opportunity to talk abou when they are not using your service.
Think, how mant time a day you say ‘Google’.
